The terms of use as described here apply to the Children's Institute Online Courses website, located at courses.childrensinstitute.net, and any related material or files. BY USING THE SITE, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS OF USE; IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE SITE. Children's Institute reserves the right, at its sole discretion, add to, remove, or change portions of these terms of service. Your continued usage of the site following any changes posted here constitutes your acceptance and agreement to the changes.

Site Content

All text, images, videos, sounds, source code, interfaces and design, along with how these elements are put together (content) contained on the online courses website are owned or licensed by Children's Institute and protected by United States copyright and trademark laws. Except as described in this terms of use, no part of the content may be copied, reproduced, republished, publicly displayed, transmitted or distributed to another computer, website or any other medium in any way without prior written consent by Children's Institute.

Permitted Use

You may not attempt to gain un-authorized access to any portion of the site by hacking, using a password or account not owned by you, or any other illegitimate means. You may not scan, probe or test for vulnerabilities of the site or any network connected to the site.

You may not take any action that will use an unreasonable or disproportionate amount of resources on site's infrastructure or network. You may not use any device, program, system or routine to interfere with the proper working of the site or another user's ability to access the site.

You may not use a program or automatic device to access, acquire, page-scrape, spider or monitor any portion of the site, or in any way circumvent the navigational structure of the site in order to access portions of the site or its content that are not purposely made available.

You may not use the site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms of service, or infringes on the rights of Children's Institute or others.

Account Security

Portions of the site can only be accessed with an account or password, issued only to you. You agree to maintain the confidentiality of any accounts and passwords, and assume responsibility and liability for any activity that takes place under your account. You agree to notify Children's Institute in the event of unauthorized use or any other breach of security.

You may not use another user's account or password at any time without the express permission and consent of that account holder. You may not pretend you are, or represent, someone else, or impersonate any other individual or entity.

Links to Third Party Sites

The Children's Institute site may link to third party websites that are not owned by or affiliated with Children's Institute. Children's Institute does not control these sites, and is not responsible for the content, materials or information contained on these sites.

Feedback

Any feedback or suggestions provided about the site will be viewed as non-confidential. Children's Institute will be free to use this information on an unrestricted basis.

CHILDREN'S INSTITUTE DOES NOT PROMISE ACCESS TO THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, FEATURE OR SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR YOUR USE OF THE SITE WILL PROVIDE SPECIFIC RESULTS. Liability

Except where prohibited by law, Children's Institute shall not be held liable for any indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental or punitive damages, including lost profits. If Children's Institute is found to be liable to you for any damage or loss connected with the use of the site, the liability shall not exceed the total cost of any subscriptions or purchases made on the site in the twelve months prior to the date of the initial claim against Children's Institute. This limitation applies in any juristrisction where limitations of liability are allowed under law.

You agree to indemnify and hold Children's Institute and its employees, board of directors and affiliates harmless against any demands, loss, claims or expenses made against Children's Institute or any third party.

Violations

You agree to allow Children's Institute to preserve any communication or transmittal by you through the site. Children's Institute may disclose any information we have about you, including your identity, if necessary in connection with any investigation or complaint regarding your use of the site, or to identify or contact someone who may be causing injury or interfering with Children's Institute's rights or property, or the rights or property of other users or affiliates. Children's Institute will disclose any information necessary to comply with any applicable legal process or government request.

You agree that Children's Institute may terminate your access to this site at our sole discretion if we determine you have violated these terms of use, or any other agreements or guidelines associated with the use of the site. Children's Institute may also terminate your access to the site at the request of law enforcement or other government agencies, at your request, due to discontinuance or modification of the site or services, due to unexpected technical issues or problems, or for any other cause at our discretion.
